Unit 2 Ways to go to school. Read and write Zhou lanlan from Lu’anlu Primary School The Analysis of Teaching Contents This lesson is the reading lesson of unit 2, six grade English first volume. The topic is Different Ways to Go to School. The four paragraphs of the text represent the different ways by which the children in four regions go to their schools. Teaching Aims 1. Students can speculate the difficult words by the pictures and grab the details of the text. They can read deeply, understand the text and fulfill the related tasks. 2. Students can use the sentence pattern “In …, … go to school …(because…) Don’t … You should…” and the vocabulary “by subway, by boat, by horse ”. They can express their ideas in both spoken and written English. 3. Students can read out the vocabulary like Munich, Papa Westray by phonics. 4. Students can give safety suggestions about the ways to school. They will have more attention to the traffic safety. Teaching Key and Difficult Points Students can use the sentence pattern in real life: In …, … go to school …(because…). Don’t… You must…” and they can express their ideas in both colloquial and written English. Teaching Aids CAI, PPT Teaching Procedures Warm up Greetings and introduce myself. I’m Orchid, from Lu’anlu Primary School. Let students guess how the teacher usually goes to school. I usually go to school by shared bike, it’s environmental friendly and good for health. Ask them how they come to school. The teacher gives some safety suggestions. Pre-reading Show a map and pictures of the four places. Ask: how do students in these places go to school? While-reading 1.Read the text quickly and find out the ways to go to school in the text. Explain sled and ferry. 2.Read the text again and underline the places, try to read them out. 3.Read carefully paragraph by paragraph.
