Teaching process:
Step 1. Warm up
Chant: My math teacher is very smart.…
Teacher tries to introduce herself:
Show out the photo and some information, let the students try to describe the teacher.
To elicit the sentences: I am tall. I live in the east of Wukang.
I have a son. I teach English in Grade 1and 4.
I go to work by car every day. I usually read English in the morning.
I often watch films in the evening.
Step2. Presentation
New words learning.
Show out Baby’s photo. Try to find out the difference between Baby and the teacher. Elicit the words: lives, has, teaches.
I live far from the school. Does Baby live far from the school?
-- No, Baby lives near the school.
(Where does your friend live?)
I have a son. Does Baby have a son? -- No, Baby has a daughter.
(What about your mother?)
I teach English in Grade 1. Baby teaches English in Grade 6.
(Show out other teachers’ photos to practise “teaches”.)
More about Baby.
How does she go to work every day? Elicit: goes
What does she usually do in the morning? Elicit: reads
What does she often do in the evening? Elicit: watches
