Lanczos algorithm w as applied to calculate modal frequencies and damping ratios of the FLD canti lever beam, w ith the parameters fitting results of a type of asphalt materials. T hrough comparing the re sults w ith the experimental ones, some good conclusions can be draw n. The ADF method can be used to implement the viscoelastic material model exactly, enabling the straightforw ard development of timedo main finite elements. With these features, ADF model can be used in dynamic analysis of compound struc ture conveniently.
