山东建筑大学硕士学位论文The 山东建筑大学硕士学位论文 The Application of Traditional Art in the Modern Architectural Environment Screen Liu Min(Defign Science) Directed by Chen HuaXin ABSTRACT The screen wall is all unique important part of Chinese traditional architecture，which carries a long history and culture．With the development of society,the screen wall is endowed more artical connotation．China’S traditional screen wall concentrates the painting，sculpture and architecture，which is all essential part of Chinese architecture．As a materialized form of Chinese traditional culture，the traditional screen wall reflects the spiritual ideology,moral ethics．It also contains people’S pursuit to a better life，embodies the wisdom of Chiese ancient laboring people and condenses the essence of Chinese traditional culture． The screen wall，also called‘‘Minor Wall’’or“Shawdow wall”in China．It is usually built at the entrance of the gate，which is a starting of the whole building．In the early days，its main function is to keep out line of sight，define the space，reflect the light and decorate the environment．In the Xia，Shang and Zhou dynasty,the screen wall only Can be used in the royal architecture，which was influenced by the traditional feudal rules．It was until in the screen wall gradually began to appear in the conllTlOn people’S home．Along with the transition ofthe era，the functional meaning ofthe screen wall is changing，and people are not satisfied with the original art form．There are various problems appeared in the devolopment of the screen wall in the modem architectural environment．This paper is based on the current hot issue．Through the analysis ofthe history oftraditional screen wall，its trying to find a suitable and continuable way to develop the traditional screen wall art in the modern architectural environment． The paper from the standpoint of historical，structure and shape，functional classification etc．stlmmaries and analyzes the screen wall’S artical charcteristics in the different archi
