As a low-cost adsorbent, biomass can effectively adsorb heavy metals in water. This pa- per mainly reviews the interaction mechanism between biomass and heavy metals and the re- search status of heavy metal adsorption by nut shell biomass in recent years. In addition, the effect of nut shell biomass adsorption on heavy metals was analyzed from the perspective of pH, solution temperature, initial heavy metal ion concentration and adsorbent dosage.
