Abs tract: Some d iscussions on Code for Dynam icM ach ine Foundation Design ( GB 50040 - 96) are had, inclu
ding mass- springdampermodel, dynam ic foundation param eters, load comb ination and structural requ irements.
Frequencydependent param eters may be defined for the massspringdamper model to calculate the dynam ic re
sponses to steady and transient loads. Foundation bearing capacity, deform ation and stability verifications shou ld be
introduced into the static design. And the structural requ irem ents of foundation shape, size, embedded depth, m a
terial and reinforcement shou ld be prescribed to guide the design. The mi portant degree of a mach ine foundation
shou ld be classified to take d ifferentm easures for the foundation settlement observation and the possibility of chan
ging foundation natural characteristics, reinforcement and repairing after construction.
