Abstract: A t the beg inn ing of the year 2008, Guangx i P rovince suffered the extrem e w eather once a 50-year and
character ized by the low tem perature, rain and snow asw e ll as freez ing. A large num ber of geo log ical disasters took
place during the extrem e w eather and the snow m elting, w hich have resu lted in heavy losses of life and property.
