Abs tract: The areas of ground fracture w ith specifically distribution characteristics, occurrence and the movement
characteristic are caused by the basement rock tecton icmovem ents, the human project activity or Quaternary Period
overburden layer remarkable non-uniform d istortion and the relative d isp lacem ent. There is special geotechn ical en-
gineering damage in the soil foundation and the understructure w ork because of the ground fracture development,
such as crack ing and fracture deformation of the foundation, cracks and instab ility of lining structure, damage on
the strength of the local stress of structure, and so on. The avoidance method of Points bu ildings and the in itia-
tive adaptation distortion m ethod of linear underground projects are effective engineering controlm ethods. The
former needs to determ ine reasonably safe d istance bewt een upw ard d isp laced block and dow nw ard displaced block.
The latter needs the corresponding anti-seepage technology, structurem easure and durab ility, accurate monitoring
technology in order to ensure th
