1. There be句型中的谓语表示形式;1. There be句型中的谓语表示形式;;⑴ There be有现在、过去、完成和将来等时态，通常没有进行时态。例如：
There are no volunteers for a job like this!
没有人会自愿于这样的活儿！
There was a huge crowd at the door.
门口当时有一大群人。
There has happened a series of accidents recently. 近来接连发生了许多事故。
There hadn’t been any rain for months. The earth was bare and dry. There wasn’t a blade of grass growing anywhere.
数月无雨，大地光秃而干裂，哪儿都寸草不生。
;There’s to be a concert at the Albert Hall tonight. It’s to be broadcast live.
今晚在阿尔伯特会堂有音乐会，将要进行实况转播。
There will be an exhibition of Hockney paintings in December.

⑵ There be的被动式多用于正式文体，且常用于believe ,says, mean, intend, consider, expect, think, report等动词。例如：
There are now published millions of books every year in China.
现在中国每年出版数以百万册书。
There is said to be a committee looking into the matter.
据说有个委员会在调查此事。

There be结构也可以用由情态动词构成的各种形式。例如：
There must be a mistake.
一定是弄错了。
There can be very little doubt about his guilt.
关于他的罪行是不可能有什么疑问的。
There might some truth in stereotypes.
老框框里也许有些道理。
There oughtn’t to be too great a discrepancy in our views.
我们的看法不应当有太大的分歧。
;2. There be句型的非限定形式; He was relying on ( there being ) another opportunity.
他在依靠有另一次机会。
⑵ 作动词宾语时，一般用there to be结构。这类动词主要有believe, expect, hate, hope, intend, like, mean, prefer, want, wish等。例如：
We expect there to be more freedom.
我们希望有更多的自由。
I want there to be no mistake about it.
我希望此事不会有任何差错。
⑶ there being结构可用作分词独立结构，在句中作状语；也可后接名词短语，在句中作主语。例如：
There being nothing else to do, we went home.
因为没别的事要做，我们就回家了。
There not being an index to this book is a disadvantage.
此书没有索引，查找很不方便。
;3. There be句型中的附加部分 ;There’s a van stopping outside.
外面停着???辆货车。
There has been more money spent on armaments.
花在军备上的钱更多了。
There’s man to show you around the town.
有个人负责带你去参观镇子。
There’s plenty of housework to do.

⑶ There be +名词（词组）+定语从句（定语从 句中指代名词的关系代词有时可省略）：
