Published by American Research Institute for Policy Development Screening Workers forPrivate Sector Employment within the United States (美 国私企如何展开员工背景调查) John Winn1 and Lili Zhu2 Abstract In any enterprise, manufacturing or service, establishing and maintaining adequate assurancesof the integrity and reliability of prospective employees(and hired contractors)is ofcritical importance. The failure to properly screen workers for trustworthiness may lead to systems and data compromises, industrial espionage, theft of trade secrets, vandalism, and even workplace violence.While physical and technology barriers limit unauthorized access to outsiders, threats and liabilities associated with so-called “insider” employeesareequally serious and ever-present.
