More specifically, erosion area distribution and erosion rates were obtained by simulating the typical parts of circular elbows (with an R/D ratio of 2)under different temperatures, flow velocities and pressures as well as different volume concentrations of solid particles. Studies indicate that erosion impact of pipeline elbows can be neglected when the pressure exceeds 6MPa. The mean erosion rate of bends gets larger and larger only when the flow velocity accelerates.
