Step1 revision
Ask Ss to work in pairs to check their homework: a passage of describing their rooms. Monitor and make note of common errors. Do an anonymous feedback session at the end of the activity.
Step2 exercise 1
Ask Ss to read the instructions
together, then ask if they all know the meanings, deal with any difficulty they have. Then say: listen to the teacher, what’s her first instruction? Play the recording. Elicit “Sit down.” Then play again, ask Ss to put her instructions in the correct order. Then check in class by asking Ss to read them in order.

Write “ Open your book.” on the board. Ask “ what’s the verb?” Elicit “ Open” then ask “ Who open the book?” if Ss have trouble, point to your in the sentence. Elicit you, then explain that the subject of the imperatives is always you. Then ask Ss to find the verb in each instruction. Then check in class. Write the verbs on the board. Then lead Ss to sum up : 1. we always begin an imperative with the base form of a verb. 2. To make a negative imperative, use “don’t” before the verb. Finally explain that Imperative sentence is used to express the request, order, advice or suggestions tone .
Step4 Exercise 2
First lead the students to read the words in the box. After make sure they all understand the meanings of the words, do item one together, then ask them to complete the instructions. Then check by asking Ss to read the instructions in class.
Step5 Exercise 3
First do it with three students. Say: listen and follow the instructions. Then say some instructions quickly until one of the students make a mistake. Then tell him or her that he or she is out of the game. Then play the recording, Ss listen and follow the instructions.
