GPP, 2000, 39(4): 12~ 18 AB TRACT A t present , the study of seismic velocity in 2D area is mainly done in the 2D space, and is not suitable for the larg e dip area because t he media underground is three dimensional. In this paper, a 3D inversion method of layerbylayer interv al velocit y is advanced, w hich can be applicable to 2D area. A t t he same t ime, the average velocities and R MS velocities in normal ray direction and plumb dir ection can be co mputed w ith t he interv al velocity. T he computed results using synthesis data and real data demonstrate that the method is an eff ective and practical method. Further mor e, the error betw een the interval velocity inverted by t he method and the v elocity in w ell is also analyzed, and the corr ection method is also put forw ard corresponding to t he er ror.
