1.Life Experience(1885-1972) In 1945, returned to America and was arrested on charge of treason. In 1946, acquitted, and declared insane. In 1958, released from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington. In 1972, died in Venice as a recluse. 2.Imagism Imagism flourished from 1909 to 1917 and involved quite a number of British and American writers and poets. The Imagist Movement advanced modernism in arts and concentrated on reforming the medium of poetry as opposed to Romanticism. Pound and Imagism Pound was fascinated by the idea of an alphabet that represented not only sounds but images.
