Step 1: Warm-up Revision

The teacher shows some pictures of fruit and talks with students one by one.
T: Have some grapes.
S1: Thank you. I like grapes.
T: Have some grapes.
S2: Sorry, I don’t like grapes. Can I have some pears?
T: Here you are. Have some apples.
S3: Thank you. I like apples.

Step 2: Presentation
1. Learn the new words.
(1) Learn the word “watermelon(s)”. (课件出示:西瓜横切面图片)
T: Look, boys and girls! What fruit is it? Can you guess?
Ss: A watermelon. / 西瓜?
T: Right! It’s a watermelon. Show a picture of “a watermelon” on the PPT. Let students listen to the word recording and teach the word “watermelon” by the game “Jump and say”.
Then show a picture of “some watermelons” on the PPT. Students read the words after the teacher. Lead students to ask their partners by using “Do you like…?”.
(2) Learn the word “strawberry (strawberries)”. (课件出示:草莓横切面图片)
T: Look, boys and girls! What fruit is it? Can you guess?
Ss: A strawberry. / 草莓?
T: Super! It’s a strawberry.
Show a picture of “a strawberry” on the PPT. Let students listen to the word recording and teach the word “strawberry” by the game “Catch the finger”.
Then show a picture of “some strawberries” on the PPT. Students read the words after the teacher. Lead students to ask their partners by using “Do you like…?”.
(3) Learn the word “grape(s)”.
