In my opinion, Christmas is the most important festival in many Western countries. It is on 25thDecember. People give presents to each other at Chirstmas. Chirldren wait for presents from Father Christmas on Christmas. Beside Chirstmas,there are other festivals that are very important,too. Easter is on a Sunday in March or Apirl. At Easter, children usually eat chocolate eggs. Flowers,chicks,eggs and rabbits are all signs of Easter. Children color eggs and hunt for eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny. Halloween is on 31st October. Children in the US and the UK love this festival.Many children dress up in fancy costumes and visit other homes in the neighborhood. At each house, they demand sweets, snacks or a small gift. If they do not get this, they threaten to do some harm to the owner of the house. This is known as playing 'trick-or-treat'. Thanksgiving is on the fourth Thursday in November. Thanksgiving is a holiday where friends and families come together to celebrate with a special meal. This meal generally involves a turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, potatoes, pumpkin pie, gravy, and vegetables.
