The special geological structure of Chenzhou breeds abundant rare non-ferrous metal resources and precious stones and mineral crystal resources; therefore, Chenzhou is honored by the UNESCO as the “World Museum of Non-ferrous Metals”. In order to show the international influence and industry status of the precious non-ferrous metals, Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone builds this first underground museum with an total floor area of 210,000 m2 at Linyi Park Square in the East New District by taking advantage of the low-lying terrain and ingenious design and construction. Chenzhou World Museum of Non-ferrous Metals consists of Lobby, Chenzhou Exhibition Hall, Silver Exhibition Hall, Bismuth Exhibition Hall, Tungsten Exhibition Hall, Comprehensive Exhibition Hall, a 4D cinema and Geocentric Adventure Track Car. Utilizing various real objects, precious pictures, restored models and original scenes combined with multimedia tools, the museum comprehensively displays the mysterious characteristics, mining and smelting processes and craftsmanship of non-ferrous metals. The museum also describes the evolution of non-ferrous metals along with the development of human society.
