X ian University of T echnolo y , Xian 710048, China) Abstract: With the development of w ater resources exploit ation and utilizat ion, the problems involved in dam safety become increasin ly remarkable. A eneral review on dam safet y monit orin and control re- searches carried out in China and overseas is introduced in t he follow in five aspect s: error processin and analy sis of m onitorin data series, norm al analy sis of m onitorin data , back-analysis of the st ructure char- acterist ic of dam, feedback analy sis and workin out the index es of dam safety monitorin and control, dam safet y eneral evaluation and decision-makin . Finally , w ith an aim at the trend of dam safety moni- torin and control researches, correspondin proposals are tabled.
