It must be possible to design a robotic penguin with a walk that is just as cute. ? Ask the chidlren: What sort of behaviors and features might a robot penguin have? (It could walk with a wiggle. It will not be able to swim, but it might be able to glide on its tummy.) Construct (20 min) Guide the children to the Construct model A section and have them build the penguin. ? Ask: Which parts are the wings? Which are the feet? Which parts will move? (The feet are attached to motors, so they will move.) Construct the Program (10 min) The program turns on two motors at half power at the same time. So the penguin walks slowly straight ahead. Have the children change the power of one motor to be slower than the other. This will make the penguin walk in circles. (For example 25 and 50.)
