The see-saw war went on for 100 years until the English were finally driven out of France. From the ruins of the war an entirely new France emerged. For England, the results of the war were equally decisive; it ceased to be a continental power and increasingly sought expansion as a naval power. The Hundred Year’s War saw the destruction of the feudal nobility (封建贵族) and the decline of the feudalism (封建制度). The Establishment of New Monarchy The House of Lancaster (兰开斯特家族) found most of its support in the north and west of the country, while support for the House of York (约克家族)came mainly from the south and east.
