Signal Classification Railway signal can be classified into acoustic signal and visual signal. Acoustic signal conveying different meanings with sounds of different intensity, frequency and duration. Sounds made with the whistle of locomotives and rail cars, train horns, mouth flutes and detonators are all acoustic signals;Visual signal is the one presented in different colors, shapes, numbers, and light on-off status at different locations. Typical visual signals cover ground signal, hand signal light (flag), signal sign, torch, signal indicator and others.;Visual signal can be divided into fixed signal, movable signal, and hand signal. Fixed signals are installed in a certain position to send signals for the area it covers, for example, signal, signal indicator and locomotive signal. Movable signal includes all the movable ones temporarily installed on ground such as the yellow round plate and quadrate red signal used to indicate line construction sites. Hand signal is sent via hand-held signal flag and signal light.;2. Signal display 1）Regulation for colors The basic display system of railway signals in China consists of basic colors and auxiliary colors Basic colors include red, yellow and green, whose respective meanings are listed below: Red – Stop； Yellow – Attention or Slow Down； Green – Operate at the specified speeds.;2) Signal on Signal light gives operation instructions with stable light and combination of stable lights (yellow and green light, yellow light and flashed yellow
