The analysis of the teaching material
This lesson is a reading passage from Go for it 9A unit 2. By studying of this lesson, I’ll enable students to know something of Christmas, and develop the interest in English learning. At the same time, let the students learn how to give a personal reaction. From this lesson, let students learn how to use Objective clauses with that/if/whether. (As we all know, reading belongs to the input during the process of the language learning. The input has great effect on output, such as speaking and writing.) Therefore, this lesson is in the important position of this unit. If the Ss can master it well, it will be helpful for them to learn the rest of this unit.
= 1 \* ROMAN I. Analysis of the target students
Students in Grade 9 have some abilities in reading and they are familiar with the topic, so it’s easy to arouse students’ interest in this lesson and encourage them to participate in the class actively. However, some students still have problems reading and understanding the passage, so the teacher continues to develop students’ reading abilities.

1、To learn some key words 、expressions and sentences.
2、To learn some basic knowledge about Christmas.
3、To develop listening reading and speaking skills.
4、To treat everyone with kindness and warmth.Share and give love and joy to people around us.

1. Learn the key words and phrases :Christmas, lie, novel, eve, dead, business, punish, warn, present, warmth, spread, end up, care about, remind of.
