This ensures a continuity of action that is essential to obtain a smooth mat. The material is conveyed from the bottom of hopper via a pair of flow gates to the auger box which can be adjusted independently to provide close control of the flow. Text An asphalt paver is usually powered by a diesel engine. To assist the operator to achieve accuracy of mat level, the paver has a complete system of automatic level control. The quality of the laid mat depends to a great extent upon the skill of the operator and the ease with which the paver can be handled.
