浙江概貌 Overview 浙江省位于中国东南沿海，北接上海，境内最大的河流钱塘江，因江流曲折，称之江，又称浙江，省以江名, 简称“浙”。 Situated in the coastal area in southeast China, Zhejiang borders Shanghai on the north. Zhejiang was named after the Qiantang River, the biggest river in the province, which is also called fZhe River1, meaning literally *a zigzag river1. 区位概况 Geography Jurisdiction 全省陆域面积10.18万平方公里，为全国的1.06%，2016年末全省常住人口 5590万人。行政区划分为杭州、 宁波、温州、嘉兴、湖州、绍兴、台州、金华、衢州、丽水、舟山11个地级市。 Zhejiang covers a land area of 101,800 square kilometers, 1.06% of the national total. It has a total population of 55.90 million of permanent residents (2016). Under the direct jurisdiction of the province are eleven municipalities, namely, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Huz hou, Jiaxing, Shaoxing, Jinhua, Quzhou, Zhoushan, Taizhou, and Lishui. 浙江地处亚热带，四季分明，光照充足，雨量充沛，是中国自然条件最优越的地区之一。地形自西南向东北呈 阶梯状倾斜，有“七山一水两分田”之说，境内河湖众多，海岸线(含海岛)长6400余公里。Lying in the subtropical zone dominated by a monsoon climate, the province is blessed with abundant sunshine, ample rainfall, four distinct seasons and one of the countr/s best natural advantages. Zhejiangs topography is featured by decreasing altitudes from southwest to northeast, with 70% of the land covered by mountains, 10% by rivers and lakes and 20% by plains and basins. The province has a coastline of 6,400 kilometers in total length. 农业资源 Agricultural Resources浙江是中国高产综合性农业区，茶叶、蚕丝、水产品、柑橘、竹制品等在全国占有重要地 位。Zhejiang ranks among the most agriculturally productive regions in China. The province produces the countrys finest tea and silk, and a host of local specialties such as aqua products, citrus and bamboo products. 森林资源 Forest Resources 浙江素有“东南植物宝库”之称。全省森林覆盖率达 60.91%，植被资源在3000种以上，属国家重点保护 的野生植物有45种。有123种动物被列入国家重点保护野生动物名录。 Zhejiang is endowed with rich forest resources, hence its reputation as the southeast Chinas treasure house of flora1.
