RESEARCH ON THE PEOPLEPLACES
OF URBAN PLAZES
ABSTRACT
On the basis of correlative theories, this paper researches into the people
places design of urban squares through a wealth of field surveys. By elaborating
correlative concepts and people’s behavior and psychology, and making first-hand
investigations of the elements of people places design of urban squares, such as
function zoning, virescence, ground finishing, indicated construction, obstacle-free
structures, and square furniture, it gives a profound analysis of the current
problems of people places design of urban squares, probes into the necessity of
people places design, and then elicits conclusions on the chance of providing
instructions for people places design of urban square.
