Which way do you prefer? Students choose their favorite way of making friends. 【设计意图:询问学生现实生活中的交友方式可以与本课主题有效衔接。To help students have a previous understanding of the topic of the passage by asking their ways of making friends in daily life.】 Step 3 While-reading (读中)(25mins) I. Fast reading: Read for the main structure, main idea and the author’s purpose. The teacher has divided the eight paragraphs into four parts. Students should read the passage quickly to match each part with its main idea. Students analyze the passage with partners to get the authors’ purpose of writing the passage. Teacher should help the students to get the answer. Para2-3 and Para 4-7 are the main bodies of the passage. Para 2-3 is about the advantages Para 4-7 is about the disadvantages So the author’s writing purpose is Choice C.
