Installation Operating Instructions Ball Valve EK, FK, HK Mainenance ARGUS 7.3 Accessory: Safety Drain and Bleed Plug The safety plug, also called captive drain plug, is designed to prevent unintentional loss of the drain plug when draining. The safety plug can also be closed again immediately when loosening, even if there is an overpressure in the ball valve. After the air has been vented, the interior of the appliance must be refilled. Installing the safety plug The complete safety plug is screwed tightly into the tapped hole using a chemical adhesive (e.g. Loctite). The plug may only be opened, not forcibly screwed out. DANGER Do not place yourself in front of the outlet orifice! Fluid escapes laterally. Keep the collecting container nearby! 8 Mainenance 8.1 Periodic Inspection Regular maintenance, servicing and repair measures are not required with ARGUS ball valves. It is recommended to periodically inspect the pipework section for leaks and damage. The flange and welded connections must also be inspected. Recommendation: Inspect the valve appr. every 6 months The recommended inspection can be executed in the installed state. As a rule, the normal plant operation does not have to be interrupted: 1. Inspect the outer seals for leaks and re-tighten if necessary 2. Inspect the test connection or the body drain plug - when present - for leaks to the outside 3. Inspect the valve for external damage by corrosive influences or mechanical damage 4. Clean the valve and re-coat if necessary 5. If possible, open and close the fitting and ensure that the valve stem runs smoothly A jerky running of the shaft can indicate increased torque. 6. Inspect all accessories for tight fit and function
