Step 2 Leading in: Say: These are English-speaking countries. Ask: Do you like these countries? Do you like English? Why do you study English? Get the students to answer the questions. Step 3: Presentation: Ask the students to open their books at Page 71.Look at the five reasons of why you study English. Say: Some of them are important to you, and some of them may not be important to you. Ask the students to do a quick check to think which reasons are most important. Let students read the conversation in Activity 1b.Then look at activity 1a. Talk about your reasons for studying English with your partner. Have conversations like the sample dialogue. As students work, move around the room checking the progress of the pair and offering help as needed. Ask a few pairs to present their conversations to the class.
