Activity 1 A. pair work : Have the students look at the photos and imagine what the people in the photos are saying to each other. Then have the students form pairs and discuss the questions above the photos. Ask some pairs to share their answers with the rest of the class, encouraging them to say what they think some of the people are meeting for the first time. B. pair work: As a warm –up, ask volunteers to suggest things that people say when introducing themselves and others. Then have students stay in their pairs to put the conversation in order.
