Unit4 Natural Disasters Part 4 Reading For Writing Learning objectives In this class, you will 1. read a news report about a natural disaster and two summaries of the news report; 2. conclude what a summary is and how to write a summary; 3. write two summaries. Learning objectives 1. What’s the writing style(体裁) of the article? Headline 2. Thinking: When you see this headline, what information would you like to get from the news report? A news report What caused the tsunami? Did it influence China? Pre-reading name of the newspaper title of the news report reporter and date a picture of a tsunami Reading Headline (tells what the story is about) Body (contains more information and details) Ending (gives something to think about) Byline (shows who wrote the story) Lead (includs who, what, when, where, why and how) Read the news report and find out the structure. ow hy ho here hen W W hat W H Tips: Don’t read word by word.
