Relative permeability curveRelative permeability curve 油藏物理学——相对渗透率 Several concept 1.Absolute permeability means if the rock is 100% saturated with a single fluid (or phase), such as oil, gas, or water, and the fluid flow through porous media and totally cannot reacted with rock, the ability of the fluid flowing through porous media is called absolute permeability. Effective permeability or phase permeability In presence of more than one fluid, permeability is called the “effective”permeability (Ko, Kw, or Kg being oil, water, or gas effective permeability respectively). Reservoir fluids interface with each other during their movement through the porous channels of the rock; consequently, the sum of the effective permeabilities of all the phases will always be less than the absolute permeability. That is Ko+Kw+Kg＜1 3. Relative permeability In presence of more than one fluid in the rock, the ratio of effective permeability of any phase to the absolute permeability of the rock is known as the relative permeability (kr) of that phase.
