The technique is rapid, measures virtually all elements in a single acquisition and has limits of detection typically at or below the ng/L (ppt) level. Even initially problematic elements, such as K, Ca, Fe, As and Se, are now routinely measured using the power and flexibility of the Ar ICP to preferentially remove troublesome spectral overlaps.
