CTIA members provide the wireless networks, devices, equipment, and solutions that make smart cities possible. This includes the high-speed mobile broadband and services behind video, streaming, and cloud computing; the wireless networks and technologies for connected and autonomous vehicles; and the communications technology and infrastructure of smart grids, which enable efficient, dependable control of energy consumption. CTIA members are also the drivers of 5G, the next generation of wireless. As advanced networks roll out across the nation, 5G will allow up to 100 times more simultaneous connections, provide up to 100 times faster connectivity, and enable over five times lower latency, which is key for innovations like autonomous vehicles.
