If so, then your dream has come true. On Nov 1, Ghibli Park, the themed park on the popular animation (动画) company’s productions, opened in Aichi prefecture (县), Japan. Representing the world of Studio Ghibli, the park brings some of the company’s most beloved characters and scenes to life. The park eventually will have five areas: Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, the Hill of Youth, Dondoko Forest, the Valley of Witches, and Mononoke Village. But only three of them are now open to visitors. Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse is “an indoor facility that stores all of the studio’s secrets, from large to small artifacts (手工艺品) and exhibits (陈列品) from past Studio Ghibli movies”, according to the company’s website. On the Hill of Youth, there stands World Emporium, the shop from Whisper of the Heart (《侧耳倾听》). In Dondoko Forest, you can find Satsuki and Mei’s House and “Dondoko- do”, a wooden Totoro figure. Although Ghibli Park seems to satisfy all of the imagination and desires of its animation fans, it is different from a typical themed park like Disneyland.
