Advise women who need intensification of hypoglycaemic therapy to increase the frequency of self-monitoring to include fasting and a mixture of pre- and postprandial levels. Offer monthly HbA1c Advise women to aim for an HbA1c below 6.1%, if safe. Inform women that any reduction in HbA1c may reduce risks. Advise women with HbA1c above 10% to avoid pregnancy. Do not offer rapid optimisatio
