一、教学目标
1. Students will be able to use the target vocabulary (twelve months of the year) to talk about birthdays, holidays and some festivals.
2. Students will be able to talk and write their favorite months.
3. Students will be able to talk and write about their family’s or friends’ favorite months.
4. Students will develop their critical thinking ability, logical thinking ability, reading skills, as well as their motivation in learning in reading and writing about the topic.
二、学情分析
Students are familiar with the topic, the teaching contents related to their life experiences will not only arouse their interest, but facilitate their learning as well.
三、重点难点
Main Points:
1. Be able to talk and write about their favorite months.
2. Be able to talk and write about their family’s favorite months.
Difficult points:
1. Be able to use “before” or “after” to talk about the months.
2. Be able to talk and write about why they like the specific months.
3. Be able to use the target vocabulary to talk about some specific holidays and festivals.
四、教学过程
1. 第一学时
(1) 教学目标
Recognize and read out the 12 months. Be able to talk about some holidays with the pattern: When’s ... It’s in... Be able to write and talk about the birthdays of some family members and friends.
(2) 学时重点
Be able to say out the names of 12 months in a year. Note that each word begins with a capital letter.
(3) 学时难点
Be able to talk about the holidays using the topic vocabulary.

活动1【导入】Lead in
Listen to the songs about months of the year. Choose their favorite song: Months of the year.
活动2【讲授】Present the words of months
Using the word cards to present the target words paying attention to connect the sound with the word
活动3【活动】Reorder the words of months
Reorder the words, using after or before.
E.g. January is before February... / February is after January...
活动4【活动】Elaborate the words of months
Listen to the song of months. Talk about the background of each month
