To analyze the shortcomings and limitations of current translations of Tao Yuanmings poetries in both English and American English contexts. 3. To explore the ways in which cultural context can influence the interpretation and translation of poetry. 4. To propose practical strategies for translating Tao Yuanmings poetry in a way that better conveys the intended meaning and cultural significance. Methodology: This study will draw on a range of scholarly articles and research related to the topics of translation theory, cross-cultural communication, and poetry translation. A comparative analysis will be conducted on selected examples of translated poetry from Tao Yuanmings oeuvre in both English and American English.
