藏族小学英语教育的个案研究——以唐克九年一贯制学校为例的中期报告 Introduction This report is a mid-term report for a case study on English education in a primary school for the Tibetan ethnic group in China. The study is conducted in Tangke Nine-year Compulsory Education School, which is located in a remote county of northwest China where the majority of the population is Tibetan. The purpose of this report is to present an overview of the school and to review the literature related to this study. Background Tibetan is an ethnic minority in China, and Tibetan language is the official language of Tibet. However, due to the economic development and globalization, English has become an essential tool for international communication and a must-have skill for modern education. Therefore, it is important to promote English education in Tibetan areas to ensure that Tibetan people can benefit from the global opportunities and contribute to the development of the region and the country. Objectives The objectives of this study are as follows: 1. To examine the current situation of English education in Tangke Nine-year Compulsory Education School. 2. To explore the challenges and opportunities of English education in a Tibetan primary school. 3. To identify effective strategies for improving English education in Tibetan primary schools. Methodology This study is a case study, and data will be collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The participants will include teachers, students, parents, and school administrators. Literature Review The literature related to this study will be reviewed from three aspects: English education in China, English education in Tibetan areas, and effective strategies for English education. Conclusion This mid-term report provides an overview of the case study on English education in Tibetan primary schools in China.
