Introduction With the globalization of education and the rise of standardized curricula, there has been a growing concern about the erosion of traditional cultural heritages and the need to preserve and promote them. This has been particularly pronounced in Gao Shi Township, where the rich local music culture is in danger of being lost due to the lack of formal education and its integration into mainstream curricula. To address this, Linyi University introduced a course on Local Music in 2018 as a way of preserving and promoting the local culture. This report is a mid-term evaluation of the course that assesses its effectiveness, challenges, solutions, and suggestions for the future. II. Background Gao Shi Township is located in the south of Shandong Province, China. It has a population of over 60,000 people, mainly consisting of farmers and migrant workers.
