In the first phase of the project, I conducted a literature review on the principles of laser polarization and adaptive signal processing. I also studied various applications that use laser polarization states, such as optical communication, sensing, and imaging. This helped me gain a deeper understanding of the theoretical background needed for my project. In the second phase, I designed and simulated an adaptive signal processing algorithm using MATLAB. The algorithm uses a combination of four polarization states of the laser beam to extract useful information from the received signal. The simulation results indicated that the algorithm has good performance in noise reduction and signal enhancement. Currently, I am in the process of implementing the algorithm in a practical setting. I have acquired the necessary equipment and am now conducting experiments to verify the performance of the algorithm in a real environment.
