The setting sun shining on our faces through the awning, my father looked at me with a familiar look, murmuring, Life... good.” In spite of only two words, in that unforgettable moment, I really understood what he meant. That was what he would always say before his stroke. Now Dad injected true meaning into the three simple words by refusing to let his sickness overshadow our life. I really couldn’t imagine the efforts my father made every time he spoke. I could comprehend now it was his efforts that inspired me to move forward in the face of the darkest times. 11.I used to love the light for it showed me the way; yet now I appreciate the darkness for it shows me the stars--hope.
