Therearetwomajorproblemsmanymenfaceintoday’ssociety.The

firstproblemisaninabilitytoidentifywithaclearandhealthymodelof

malebehavior.Mentodayareoftenfacedwithanambiguousandconfusing

setofexpectationsleavingthemparalyzedintermsofhowtoproperlyand

productivelyact.Men,inshort,donothaveafunctionalconceptofwhatit

meanstobea“man”inashealthyofawayastheyshould.

Thesecondproblemistheproblemoftheinternalizedemotionaltrauma

manymenexperience,andyetdonotfullyunderstandhowtodealwithor

evenrecognize.Attherootofmanymen’sissuesattractingwomenoreven

beingabletoexperienceintimaterelationships,romanticorotherwise,are

anabundanceofemotionalissuesstemmingfromyouthwhichhave

persistedduetoalackofhelpandacknowledgement.Theseissuesinclude

lowself-esteem,shame,guilt,embarrassment,andageneralinabilityto

faceuptomanyoflife’semotionaldemands.

Essentially,manymenarelackinginboththeproperguidelinesfor

healthybehaviorandtheemotionalfoundationnecessarytopracticesuch

behaviorevenwhenitistaughttothem.Oneofthebiggestproblemswith

manyofthebookswrittenwiththesimilaraimofteachingmenhowto

comfortablyinteractwithwomenonlyaddresshowamanshould“act”,and

neglecttodiscusshowimportantahealthyemotionalframeworkistowards

ensuringthesuccessoftheseactions.

Thisbook,therefore,hastwomaingoals:toprovideguidelinesfor

productivemalebehavior,andalsotoprovidepsychologicalandemotional

supportsotheseguidelinescanbeproperlyenacted.
