Introduction

Semanticfieldtheoryisacommonlyusedtheoryinlinguistics,whichplaysanimportantroleintheanalysisandtranslationoflanguage,especiallyinthecontextofEnglishmajorintensivereading.ThemainpurposeofthispaperistoexploretheapplicationofsemanticfieldtheoryinthecontextofEnglishmajorintensivereading,andtoprovidesomeinsightsforinterpretingandtranslatinginbilingualexchanges.

Thispaperisdividedintofourparts.ThefirstpartisabriefintroductionofthesemanticfieldtheoryanditsapplicationinEnglishlinguistics.Thesecondpartanalyzestheconceptandfeaturesofsemanticfields.ThethirdparttakesexamplesfromthecontextofEnglishmajorintensivereadingtoillustratehowtousesemanticfieldtheoryforcontextanalysisandtranslation.Thefourthpartbrieflydiscussestheimplicationsofsemanticfieldtheoryforinterpretingandtranslatinginbilingualexchanges.
