1.1Thistestmethodprovidesatechniqueforextracting

quantitativedimensionalinformationonanobjectfromits

neutronradiograph.Thetechniqueisbasedontheidentifica-

tionofchangesinfilmdensitycausedbymaterialchanges

whereacorrespondingdiscontinuityinfilmdensityexists.This

testmethodisdesignedtobeusedwithneutronradiographs

madewithawell-collimatedbeam.Thefilmdensitiesinthe

vicinityoftheedgemustbeinthelinearportionofthedensity

versusexposurecurve.Theaccuracyofthistestmethodmay

beaffectedadverselyininstallationswithhigh-angular-

divergenceneutronbeamsorwithlargeobject-to-filmdis-

tances.
