它是集合名词，是人口的总称，没有复数形式。使用时要注意以下四点：

①表示“某地有多少人口”，常使用固定结构：

加拿大有三千五百万人口。

②“人口的多/少”用形容词large/big或者small来表示，不能用many/much或few/little。
