（2024·浙江·高考真题）TheStanfordmarshmallow(棉花糖)testwasoriginallyconductedbypsychologistWalterMischelinthelate1960s.Childrenagedfourtosixatanurseryschoolwereplacedinaroom.Asinglesugarytreat,selectedbythechild,wasplacedonatable.Eachchildwastoldiftheywaitedfor15minutesbeforeeatingthetreat,theywouldbegivenasecondtreat.Thentheywereleftaloneintheroom.Follow-upstudieswiththechildrenlaterinlifeshowedaconnectionbetweenanabilitytowaitlongenoughtoobtainasecondtreatandvariousformsofsuccess.

Asadults,wefaceaversion(版本)ofthemarshmallowtesteveryday.We’renottempted(诱惑)bysugarytreats,butbyourcomputers,phones,andtablets—allthedevicesthatconnectustotheglobaldeliverysystemforvarioustypesofinformationthatdotouswhatmarshmallowsdotopreschoolers.

Wearetemptedbysugarytreatsbecauseourancestorslivedinacalorie-poorworld,andourbrainsdevelopedaresponsemechanism(机制)tothesetreatsthatreflectedtheirvalue—afeelingofrewardandsatisfaction.Butaswe’vereshapedtheworldaroundus,dramaticallyreducingthecostandeffortinvolvedinobtaining(获取)calories,westillhavethesamebrainswehadthousandsofyearsago,andthismismatch(不匹配)isattheheartofwhysomanyofusstruggletoresist(抵抗)temptingfoodsthatweknowweshouldn’teat.

Asimilarprocessisatworkinourresponsetoinformation.Ourformative(有重大影响的)environmentasaspecieswasinformation-poor,soourbrainsdevelopedamechanismthatprized(高度重视)newinformation.Butglobalconnectivityhasgreatlychangedourinformationenvironment.Wearenowendlesslybombarded(轰炸)withnewinformation.Therefore,justasweneedtobemorethoughtful(深思熟虑的)aboutourcaloricconsumption(热量消耗),wealsoneedtobemorethoughtfulaboutourinformationconsumption,resistingthetemptationofthemental“junkfood”inordertomanageourti
