Abstract
Investmentcastingcanalsobecalledde-waxcasting.Itisacastingprocesstocoat
thefusiblewaxpatternwithpotterymoldshellwhichisformedbyadhesives,refractory,
andsomeothermaterials.Itisacastingprocedurewithlesscuttingorevennocutting.
Thisarticlegivesabriefintroductionofthehistoryandthecurrentstatusof
investmentcasting,meanwhileitgivesanintroductiontotheproductsaswellas
productionprocessofWuxiVikingImpromanufacturingCo.,ltd.Throughtheanalysisof
thecompany’sproductprocesscost,animportantconclusionisbeingformed,i.e.,the
firstimportanceinainvestmentcastingplantis“highqualityshellgoesfirsti
investmentcastingproductio”.Inthefollowingparagraphs,thisessaypresentssome
commonlyusedadhesives,refractoryandshellmakingprocess;andalsoitgives
