Abstract

Sincethedoublecarbonstrategywasproposed,acceleratingtheimprovement

oftheecologicalenvironmentandpromotingthefurthercoordinationandsymbiosis

ofenvironmentalprotectionandeconomicdevelopmenthavebecomethecurrenthot

spot,inthiscontext,traditionalindustriesarefacingtheurgentneedforindustrial

adjustmentandindustrialupgrading.Cementindustryisatypicaltraditional

manufacturingindustry,howtodealwiththerelationshipbetweenindustry

developmentandecologicalprotectionhasbecomeanurgentproblemtobesolved.In

ordertoenhancetheirowncompetitiveness,MAhasbecomeaneffectivewayfor

enterprisesinthisindustrytotransformandupgrade,andmostoftheeconomic

benefitsbroughtbyasingleMAeventarelimited,somoreandmoreenterprises

frequentlycarryoutMAactivitiestoincreasetheirownmarketshare.Existing

studiesclassifythiskindofenterprisebehaviorascontinuousmergersand

acquisitions.Althoughthereisnounifiedconclusiononitsdefinition,thereareonly

differencesinthetimeintervalandfrequencyofmergersandacquisitions.Inthis

paper,ConchCementisselectedasthecaseobject,andaccordingtotheannualreport

information,itisfoundthatitsmergersandacquisitionsovertheyearsmeetthe

definitionthatthenumberofmergersandacquisitionsinthreeconsecutiveyearsis

notlessthan5times,soaseriesofmergersandacquisitionscanbestudiedas

continuousmergersandacquisitions.Fromtheperspectiveoflongandshortterm,this

paperexplorestheimpactofsuccessiveMAmeasuresonitsfinancialperformance.
