Abstract
AnewLateCretaceousMesoeucrocodylianfromtheAdamantinaFormation(BauruBasin),SãoPauloState,Brazilisdescribed.Themain
featuresofthisnewspeciesaretheshort,highoreinirostralrostrum,thelargelaterallypositionedorbitalnotchesandexternalnaresinthe
anteriormostportionoftherostrum.Themandibleisrobustandconcave-shapedinrelationtotheskull.Thedentitionishighlyspecialized,with
twoprominentincisiformteeth,ahypertrophiedcaniniform,andsevenmolariformteeth.Themolariformteethareornamentedwithdenticlesin
theirlingualsurfaceandaresmoothontheirlabialsurface.Themolariformsareellipticalincross-section,presentingthelargestaxisinthelabial-
lingualdirection.SuchdentalcharacteristicsareuniqueamongtheterrestrialcrocodylomorphsoftheGondwana.
