Goodmorning/afternoon!ItismygreathonortostandbeforeyoutodaytodeliveraspeechonadaythatholdsspecialsignificancenotonlyintheUnitedStatesbutalsoaroundtheworld–ThanksgivingDay.Today,Iwanttotalkaboutgratitude,theessenceofThanksgiving,andhowitshapesourlives,especiallyasyoungstudentsinourmiddleschoolyears.

Thanksgiving,asweallknow,isatimeforgivingthanksfortheblessingswehavereceivedthroughouttheyear.Itisadaywhenfamiliescometogether,shareameal,andexpresstheirappreciationforoneanother.However,gratitudeisnotlimitedtothisoneday;itisavirtuethatshouldbepracticedeverysingledayofourlives.

Firstly,letusreflectonthemeaningofgratitude.ThewordgratitudecomesfromtheLatinwordgratia,whichmeansfavororkindness.Itistherecognitionofthekindnessandgenerositythatothershaveshownus.Gratitudeisnotjustaboutsayingthankyou;itisabouttrulyappreciatingtheeffortsandsacrificesmadebyothers.

Asmiddleschoolstudents,weareoftensurroundedbypeoplewhohavecontributedsignificantlytoourlives.Ourparents,teachers,friends,andevenstrangershaveallplayedaroleinshapingwhowearetoday.Itisessentialforustoacknowledgetheircontributionsandexpressourgratitude.

Letusstartwithourparents.Theyaretheoneswhohavegivenuslife,nurturedus,andprovidedforourneeds.Fromthemomentwewereborn,theyhavebeenourpillarsofstrength,supportingusthroughthickandthin.Theyhavemadecountlesssacrificesforus,oftenputtingourneedsbeforetheirown.OnthisThanksgivingDay,letustakeamomenttothankourparentsfortheirunwaveringloveandsupport.
